Nola Crow
In Memoriam
1921-2008
Nola, a native of Fort Worth, Nola was married to her husband,
Glenn Crow, for 62 years. Together they had two daughters, who have
given them six grandchildren. Nola started her lending career as
the Secretary of Welborne Mortgage Corp. before leaving to start
her family. She later returned to the industry by becoming a loan
officer for Equitable Savings and eventually left to work for Mortgage
& Trust. Afterwards, Nola went to work in Public Relations for Stewart
Title. She then returned to Equitable Savings where she finished
her career as the branch manager for their Ridglea location.
Nola joined the Fort Worth Mortgage Bankers Association in 1967
while working for Stewart Title. She was the first female member
of the organization. She was selected to be Secretary of the association
in 1969 and has held that position since that time.
Not only was Nola heavily active in our organization, she also
works in the pantry of her church providing food to the needy. She
was also on the board of the Volunteers of America and the board
for Camp Fire Girls. Nola was also a member of the Woman’s Club
of Fort Worth and a Partner of the Investment Club and has been
President of several groups within that organization.
Nola’s hobbies included gourmet cooking, gardening, and playing
bridge. Nola truly was the glue that held our organization together
and we will miss her dearly.
